چکیده

Fall Armyworm Spodoptera frugiperda (J.E. Smith) is the major invasive pest of maize and spread to all agro climatic zones in Tamil Nadu. The ability fall armyworm adapt varied conditions may be due their modify biochemical characters. Among different environmental parameters, temperature one important components, which influences level carbohydrate, protein lipid present caterpillars. After first notice during 2018, presence has observed throughout India that shows adaptation conditions. study on properties under regime will provide insights about preference regimes. In study, parameters fourth late instar larvae were studied at five constant temperatures (15, 20, 25, 30 350C) complete randomized design. studies revealed amount total proteins, carbohydrates, lipids are high grown 15 200C. Amount amino acids increased gradually with rising temperatures. very less 250C while increases 350C. 350C other (proteins, lipids) comparatively more

Survivorship and development of fall armyworm, Spodoptera frugiperda (J. E. Smith) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae), on conventional and transgenic maize cultivars expressing Bacillus thuringiensis Cry9C and Cry1A(b) endotoxins

Growth and development of fall armyworm, Spodoptera frugiperda (J. E. Smith), were compared in two laboratory trials between individuals oered transgenic maize seedlings, conventional maize seedlings, or artificial diet. Transgenic maize seedlings in the first and second trials expressed Cry9C (Event CBH 351) and Cry1A(b) (Event MON 810) Bacillus thuringiensis (Berliner) (Bt) endotoxin genes, r...

First Report of Outbreaks of the Fall Armyworm Spodoptera frugiperda (J E Smith) (Lepidoptera, Noctuidae), a New Alien Invasive Pest in West and Central Africa

The fall armyworm Spodoptera frugiperda is a prime noctuid pest of maize on the American continents where it has remained confined despite occasional interceptions by European quarantine services in recent years. The pest has currently become a new invasive species in West and Central Africa where outbreaks were recorded for the first time in early 2016. The presence of at least two distinct ha...

Use of serological techniques for determination of Spodoptera frugiperda(J E Smith) predators (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae).

Spodoptera frugiperda (J E Smith) is an important pest of several crops, but especially on maize in Brazil. The implementation of biological control measures hinges on the identification of its predators and other natural enemies. As a means of identifying predators, antibodies against S. frugiperda eggs were generated by inoculating rabbits with macerated S. frugiperda eggs, and the production...
